======================================
This folder is a ready-to-complete Backyard Baseball 2001 modding workspace.
See BASE_Guide.pdf for the complete instructions, covering all three ways to use this package: prebuilt files, installing pre-made stadiums, and creating your own.
FASTEST START (no editing, no building)
Open the prebuilt folder and read README.txt. Copy the files there into your own legitimate game installation and you're done.
QUICK START (install or create your own stadiums)
- Open game_files and read COPY_YOUR_GAME_FILES_HERE.txt.
- Copy the six listed files from your legitimate game installation into game_files. Copy them, don't move them: setup overwrites these copies, so keep your original game installation backed up elsewhere.
- Double-click SETUP_BASE_WORKSPACE.bat.
- Open BASE.exe.
- Install a stadium with Stadium Manager, then double-click build.bat.
- Add the build folder as a game directory in ScummVM.
IMPORTANT
This package includes no original Backyard Baseball game files and no extracted game source. You must supply the six required files from your own legitimate copy.
NOTE
SETUP_BASE_WORKSPACE.bat copies five of the six files (everything except .he4) over the copies you placed in game_files before it extracts src/. This is intentional: it makes sure the roster and other core changes are included, instead of a blank extraction of your stock game. No stadiums are pre-installed, so Stadium Manager starts empty; use it to install whichever stadiums you want. Your original files aren't lost as long as you keep a backup of your own game installation elsewhere.
